Outrageous nose on this white cornas. Lemon gelato, light framing oak, insane granite minerality, so floral and fragrant. Broad, caressing and complex. Just piercing minerality. Palate is ripe, rich with lots of gras but so fresh and nimble while also expressing a wonderful fruit intensity (pineapple, guava, mango) and a controlled richness The minerality really brings out the freshness here. Long, pure and stunning. St. Peray is a great appellation currently.
Lovely vanilla extract with some air. Honeysuckle as well. Almost tannic from the minerality on the finish. What elegance. An unreal wine. — 3 days ago
As authentic as it gets. Older than old school. Nose is iodine, granite, blackberries, and it’s all wrapped in a bow. It is so refined. Wow. This is a stunning young bottle of this. Always a 9.5 as you can see by previous notes but this is just beyond. Meaty. I mean like sick insane vivid meats. Smoked and cured. 9.8 nose. Holy shit. That palate is elegant as all can be but has serious structure and tannins but all wrapped in granite and blackberry fruit. What a finish. This is as good a St. Joseph as I’ve had in months. Wow the concentration. So granitic and mineral. Young. But incredible. 9.5 for now. — 4 days ago
This is a terrific Condrieu lookalike. Intense nose has deep orchard fruit and a Muscat-like musk. Lots of low-toned crushed rock minerality. In the mouth it’s got deep ripe fruit that asymptotically verges on Gewurz but pulls away and gets intense minerally on the finish. Nice acids for a Viognier. Great value. — a day ago

Popped and poured and heavens to Betsy, the nose is sizzling with energy! The 2018 “Les p’tits bouts” pours a deep garnet with some violet color tones too. A near opaque core with some moderate staining of the tears. Medium+ viscosity. The nose is wild with blackberries, blueberries, deli case, black pepper, olive tapenade, violets, earth, and herbs. The palate is consistent with the nose. The finish is long; well over a minute. Tannin is medium++ and acid is medium+. This is a remarkably precocious Cornas with easy comparisons to Allemand and Clape. I expect a fabulous future for this wine and if this vintage is representative of Mickaël Bourg’s work, this is a producer well onto my radar. — 9 days ago
