V16. Very good. Decant. Very soft smoked meat nose. Juicy blackberry and black currant fruit. Full, round, chocolate, soft leather and earth finish. Well balanced. — 9 days ago
Last night's wine I opened the 2018 Chappellet Napa Valley Merlot.
On the nose there was black cherry, blackberry, plum, chocolate, herbaceous notes, cedar and spice.
On the palate are notes of black cherry, blackberry, black currant, chocolate, french oak, cedar box and an earthiness.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a voluptuous smooth mouthfeel, medium + to high acidity and medium + fine supple tannins that lead into a long juicy dark fruit oak finish. Please stay safe and healthy and enjoy your weekend. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 17 days ago
2017 WS wine of the year.
1 hour decant (little cloudy sediment). A striking dark purplish crimson color. On the nose: nice nose of smokey vanilla, cherry cotton candy, spearment, spice, cedar. Taste: smooth full body wine with plum, baking spice, touch of blueberry, slight bitter chocolate, cedar, and a vanilla dry medium plus finish. — 23 days ago
Plenty of acidic puckery happening here. Tight and round on the front, a bit fruitier compared to their Bennett Valley, and this one has much more aging potential. — 8 days ago
