The aromatics are of average intensity with notes of dark cherries, spices, pepper and cloves. The wine as a good mix of the Barbera’s acidity and some integrated tannins, easy drinking, good even if not very complex. To be slightly chilled before serving.

Dark, deep ruby/purple hue and fairly opaque. Very dense fruit with an earthy, rosehip palate. Decent length and structure, but perhaps not super de-lineated. I suspect this has much more to reveal with a few more years which is a comment biased by the producer’s reputation. — 2 months ago
A lighter vintage, but that just means it’s drinking well now. Alan has taken all he learned working with Sandrone and MT Mascarello and is crafting beautiful wines. Not the same level as Cantina Mascarello’s wines, but very much in that mold: velvety savory/sweet fruit accented with spice and herbs.
