This wine is just Fucking beautiful.
The style here is so elegant. I love these wines. I could really drink this once a week. So much the opposite of heavy.
Nose is perfume. Tropical fruit flowers. Not the fruit itself.
Palate is hints of tropical fruit. Mineral. Sleek in a good way. Gorgeous texture. So atypical for the rhone. If more wineries made wine like this I’d drink them as much as I do burgundy.

A rich lemon in colour. A little honeysuckle note but not intensely varietal like a Southern Rhone white can be - aromatic and unctuous. Just medium bodied - a little elegant. Medium minus acid. First of 3. Drink the other 2 in the next year or so. Made by the long established de Pury family who are French who commenced making Marsanne at Yeringberg in the 1860’s and pioneered Roussanne in Australia in the 1980’s. A good wine but to be honest not as enjoyable as Guigals Cotes du Rhone Blanc using largely similar varietals for $24. I should add that Yeringberg make a benchmark Cabernet in the Yarra Valley. — 15 days ago
Wow, surprised and impressed. Carmel and honey up front, burst of acidity and a mineral and woody finish. Could be a Sauternes. Bought one bottle to try, will buy more for the cellar. — a month ago
Marsanne white. Moon Mountain Dist. What a nice painting on the label. Poster art vibes. Lovely pale, golden color. Smells like fresh paint, flowers and lighter colored apples. Gala or Jonagold. Flavors are complex and crunchy. Lots of anise, bit of artemisia. Has hints of honey and stone-fruits. The body and bite are tremendous. ‘Big’ white wine. The balancing bitter streak is nice. This is a unique CA wine with some distinct old world style. — a month ago
100% Roussanne, 100% awesome. The weight is ridiculous. Acid is a bit diminished - would like to see more from St Joseph, but a really lovely wine. I need to plant more Roussanne. — 2 hours ago
An absolutely wonderful St Joseph. Decanted 8+ hours which I’d recommend at this point. Very glad I have some more in storage to try in a few years. Inky dark, excellent dark fruit with some great olive / earth / pepper notes, great mouth feel, nice long finish, all comes together very well. Delicious. — 5 days ago
@Josh Morgenthau inspired me to open one of these and wanted to check in on one with age. Glad I did. Preposterous nose of huge granite, lemon, some tropical fruits and exotic flowers. Amazing lime and lemon drop. Focused and round nose with such lovely granitic precision. Bit of honey and tree bark. Palate is rich and energetic with wonderful edgy and granite driven Marsanne minerality. Excellent acid and freshness and uncommon depth. Great purity. What grip. Best white wine value in all of the N. Rhone. — 6 days ago
