Long Island

North Fork of Long Island Pinot Noir 1998

This is just one of those bottles from our past here on Long Island that tastes like PN from Germany now. Yes, I said that. It was such a perfect bottle from a bygone era. — 10 days ago

Minimalist Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Maybe a little too old. Dense and ripe, lots if tropical fruit, a bit hot in the finish. — 15 days ago

Felton Road

Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2019

Aromatic notes of red fruits and red florals, dried herbs and whole bunch influences. Not as typically Otago as I was expecting - more restrained and less full bodied as you normally expect from this part of the world. I had written previously on Otago as being a “Shiraz drinkers Pinot” but this certainly wasn’t. The following day still those red cherry aromatics and a little pepper. Not overly complex, a little young, but very pleasant. Next in a year or so. — 4 days ago

Noblesse Oblige Brut Rosé Blend 2018

Elegant and easy drinking. 54% Pinot and 46% Chardonnay. Showing nice richness with air. Wolffer has the best marketing of any Long Island producer, evidenced by the number of people that ask me if I carry “Summer In A Bottle” rose every day. — 21 days ago

Defora Grk 2021

Light straw color, on the nose quite aromatic, white flowers and sliced pear, and with a hint of citrusy herb notes. On the palate it has great acidity, and gives nice mineral aftertaste, medium long finish. Very impressed. — 14 days ago
