Bought at E. Leclerc grocery store in Montaroux France. Solid and spectacular if you compare to USA grocery options — 3 months ago
2003 vintage. Generally speaking not a very interesting vintage ( too hot for Pinot Noir), but this is a very good effort. Not sure for how many years all the grapes of this 4 ha Premier Cru vineyard were sold to Jadot, but at least in this vintage the label says " monopole". In 2017 the Clos was sold to the American owners of Leclerc-Briant Champagne and ever since the 2018 vintage it is sold under the "Domaine de la Commaraine" estate name. Attractive nose with strawberry jam, spices and dried flowers. Slightly jammy fruit (but not cooked), with good balancing acidity and a charming personality. Abv. 13,5% — a year ago

Delicious, easy to drink, light, but opened when it hits the palate and lingers for a WHILE. Doesn’t need food, stands out on its own with beautiful cherry and lighter cranberry notes on a light body. Refined as hell. — 2 months ago
