2022 vintage. Sampled via Coravin. Medium-medium heavy body. Vineyard from the highest point in Gevrey-Chambertin. Gorgeous throughout already with surprising, back-end spice fest. Tannins slightly muted but started to creep out after a few minutes in the glass. This likes to speed and is going places. 1.30.26. — 5 months ago

A stressful week came to a close with disappointing news. This wonderful champagnes consoles. Dark yellow color. Smells and tastes more mature than I expected from a 2012. This has a long finish and the closest I can describe the taste would be a Selosse. Not a champagne for everyone’s taste but I am glad I bought it and opened it tonight. Beautiful rose. Early adopter of organic practices in the 1960s, biodynamic in 1988. Paired extremely well with steak tacos and salsa cruda. 95% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot noir. Almost 3 years aging sur lie. — 6 years ago
This is one BIG Champagne. Super rich, succulent, and drinking like an effervescent bottle of Pinot Noir. Umami in a Champagne... and a color close to? illegal by Champagne laws. — 7 years ago

Oxidative quality. Redolent of apples and nickels and brown flowers. Fine mousse. — 2 years ago
2003 vintage. Generally speaking not a very interesting vintage ( too hot for Pinot Noir), but this is a very good effort. Not sure for how many years all the grapes of this 4 ha Premier Cru vineyard were sold to Jadot, but at least in this vintage the label says " monopole". In 2017 the Clos was sold to the American owners of Leclerc-Briant Champagne and ever since the 2018 vintage it is sold under the "Domaine de la Commaraine" estate name. Attractive nose with strawberry jam, spices and dried flowers. Slightly jammy fruit (but not cooked), with good balancing acidity and a charming personality. Abv. 13,5% — 4 years ago
