Dry rose. I liked that. Watermelon was also nice. I have this producer before but never had the rose. — 7 days ago

Black cherries and plum. Dark but not heavy. Solid red, would be an excellent table wine, and great chilled. Grew a lot on me over time. — 11 days ago

Fantastic discovery, and a wine with serious fun factor. A bit closed aromatically, this really shines in the mouth. Textured and broad, generous and round but still hanging on to vital acidity, this coats the mouth with green apple, honeyed pear and white flower notes. The textural harmony continues through the finish, where this lingers nicely. This has good impact yet is refreshing as well. Tasty stuff. — 25 days ago

Château Puech Redon

Apparente Languedoc Cinsault Blend 2019

Fantastic. Fresh and vibrant, this was a great summer wine, with or without a chill. Fruit punch on the nose, macerated strawberries and blueberries on the palate along with a bit of spice. It checked all the boxes for a great weeknight wine in August! 100% Cinsault. 8/10/22. — 3 months ago

Cuvée des Peintres Collioure Grenache Blend 2020

Cherry, blackberry, plum, licorice, garrigue. Very nice nose. The palate is well made and shows some nice spice (black pepper), blackberry and cherry, a good width and some matter on the side, a vivid mouthfeel with a grip, some light tannins that caress before a long finish with black fruits and licorice in retro. Quite good indeed! We had it along a great moussaka made by Mrs M. and it was great. — 21 days ago

@Tom Casagrande highly recommended! This is very cheap, still relatively low profile and delicious. A priorat from the other side of the border

Château La Roque

Cupa Numisma Pic Saint Loup Red Blend 2019

Yes, to early-evening sunshine after being cooped up inside all day!! And, yes, to savoring a glass of delicious wine while we’re at it!!!

This wine is 60% Syrah, 40% Mourvèdre, hailing from the Pic Saint Loup appellation in the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France. It was produced by Château La Roque, which is certified biodynamic and practices low-intervention winemaking.

It offers a medium purple hue with medium (+) intensity of youthful aromas reminiscent of black cherry compote, blackberry sauce, ripe plum, also licorice, anise, peppercorn, nutmeg, tobacco, leather, peat, and cured meat (not tied to bottle aging).

This wine is dry with medium acidity, high alcohol (14.2%), a medium (+) body, medium (+) and grippy tannins, and medium (+) intensity in flavors consistent with the nose, but the pepper is more present on the palate than on the nose. The finish is medium (+).

This wine has balance, a strong structure, and great concentration of aromas and flavors. It’s beautiful.

We have tasted and loved many wines coming from this appellation (and the Languedoc-Roussillon region) lately. It's a region undoubtedly worth exploring.

Natural wine done right, and a welcome, elegant take on the appellation. Blue fruited and high toned on the nose, this has good intensity on the palate yet maintains refinement, and a crunchy edge. Earth driven, there is a ferrous, sanguine quality to the fruit, and this develops nice complexity with air. Stays clean, this avoids the typical natural wine pitfalls with air exposure. Great producer, lovely wine. — 12 days ago
