Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend

The acidity was spectacular. Currant, raspberry, dark licorice, and earthy leather. Delicious.

Last one. Hope to see it again some day.

Nose is ripe & dried fruit, dirt, currant. Palate is all dark fruit concentrated and elegant. Structure is great. Tannins are still prominent but very well integrated. Acid is perfect. Almost perfect wine

A little underwhelming for a Chateau as good as Palmer. Later vintages more impressive than those in the 90s. Lacked fruit and body and finished short and a little thin. Disappointing. 16.

Feeling like a pedophile

Absolutely a great Margaux...

Medium garnet , medium garnet rim . Aromatic , and slightly funky nose , with herbal, cedar , sous bois , truffle . On the palate this is slightly strict , quite high acidity , slightly gritty tannin , mix of red and dark fruits , herbal tinges , tobacco and earthy finish . Quite linear and elegant . Perhaps slightly rustic , not particularly ambitious but classic ‘gentleman’s club’ claret. Though this is showing quite a lot of tertiary character it is still drinking well , drink now and over the next 5 or so years

Enjoy with good friends. Decant for 3 hrs. Smooth, silky and floral. Balanced and live up to its reputation
