Lady Of The Mandrake

The Ojai Vineyard

Roll Ranch Vineyard Syrah 2002

Aromas of dark black fruits - blackberry, plum, blueberry. Bold and big, with soft integrated tannins that draw you into the inner sanctum of the grape varietal. A tinge of age at the ends, but not in the fore front. Nice lovely finish lasting over 30 seconds before it breaks down. Definitely at its peak of performance. Paired well with the bolognese. Even better with the veal chop with figs, pluots, and watermelon radish. As Elizabeth says, this is a gorgeous wine. “It’s a grown up, but not old”. Or as I like to say, like a 40 year old classy lady wearing an evening gown and pearls - just stunning! — 2 years ago

I agree with everything he said. This wine is awesome. Maybe revise to a hot 50 year old in pearls...

Heaven's Cave Cellars

Destiny Ridge Vineyards Riesling 2007

Exceptional wine! Petroleum, lanolin, & yellow apples on the nose. Sweet, sugary notes of crisp yellow apples, Pink Lady apples, pollen, subtle white flower, some lamp fuel, & honey. Dessert, but so easy to sip on this breezy, cool, late summer afternoon. — 4 years ago

Oliane Suavignon Blanc 2016

The 2016 'Oliane' is a fantstic Sauvignon Blanc made by Avennia and winemaker, Chris Peterson. This stunning wine is drinking marvelously, as it begins with aromas of bright pear and green papaya aromatics with a touch of lemongrass. The palate shows a wonderful texture and a good sense of place. Bright Gravenstein apple, lemon zest and kumquat with Pink Lady apple flavors come to mind. Rich and satisfying, yet refreshing this is one of the best of its kind in the state. Drink 2019-2025- 92 — 3 years ago

Ca' del Bosco

Cuvée Prestige Brut Franciacorta Chardonnay Blend

Finest mousse. Lightest peach, lemon pith, ripe ginkgo, lime, persimmon, orchid concentrate and tangerine-thyme aromatically. Creamy mousse plays chalky with tangerine and lemon oil across the tongue seductively. Lime zest, lychee, apricot and a pure single drop of ripe lemon juice connects the creamy finish in a lovely way. Really an amazing wine with the complex nuances of a lively tête-à-tête with a stunningly beautiful lady. #CadelBosco #bubbles #franciacorta #Brut #Chardonnay #sparklingwine — 4 years ago

Maison Bleue

Notre Vie Arthur's Vineyard Viognier 2016

Sourced from the esteemed Seven Hills Vineyard in the Walla Walla Valley, this Viognier opens with a ripe bouquet of white peach, vanilla cream and suggestions of honey and apricot. The palate shows notable viscosity and tension, with nectarine, Pink Lady apple, green papaya and honeydew melon flavors all buiding up to the finish. Drink 2019-2025- 92 — 3 years ago

Château Magdelaine

St. Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 1993

Ash, leafs in decay, soft plummy, figgy fruit, blood and ferous notes. No tannines, tender and transparant, a respectable grand lady at the final phase of her drinking plateau.
Pretty good effort, considering the vintage.

Fairview Cellars

The Bear Premier Series Okanagan Valley Red Blend 2014

Well balanced lovely. A modest winery with no ritzy fan fair. Just producers of fine wines. My 2nd foray into the Fairview brand. Greeted by a couple of very friendly poochies 🐶🐕 and you walk into a very small show area. Very welcoming and friendly. Makes me want to support our local industry for sure. The BEAR is a full bodied Bordeaux style blend of Cab suave, Merlot, Cab Franc, Petit Verdot. Referred to as the "Bear Meritage" A great I known and winery to many. Paired well with home style burgers with aged cheddar and seasoned fries.. man was it good. The wine just cut the food with finesse and a high level of satisfaction. My just loved and she is picky. A lovely lady with Italian heritage who first drank wine when she was knows a thing or 2 about wine so when we uncorked this baby, nothing but smiles. Cheers Fairview!!!! — 4 years ago
