Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe fruits, sweet herb spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of ripe cherry and plum, cacao, tobacco with gentle herb spice wrapped in balanced acidity. Fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and earthy character. Just starting to show well but will age for next 10 years. Nice! — 10 days ago
Really quite a wine. Beautiful strawberry translucence in the glass. Decanted 1 hour and gave it a bit of a chill. Lots of great lighter red fruit. Very refined tannins and wonderful acid on the finish. Has a bit of a funky note on the end - only way I can describe it is it’s like the juices that come out of a good dry aged steak when it’s resting. So fun to try and perfect with a roast young chicken with mushrooms cooked in the chicken drippings. — 12 days ago
Engaging wine: very shy but slowly opened to reveal gorgeous cherry & rhubarb, alongside rose hips, soil, minerals, stones & white pepper. a bit light bodied for Nebbiolo, but great extraction - not over done, a liqueur element, hi quality winemaking. lively acidity as well. focused & precise on palate with great fruit & terroir but not overly ripe - harmony with mildly chewy tannins. Decent length on finish. Interesting & impressive. There is not a ton of fruit here, but it has great balance - probably only near term cellaring potential tho / thanks @Lyle Fass — 21 days ago
Il Molino di Grace ‘Il Margone’ Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG 2013: Medium-body. Lively acidity. Strong beautiful tannins that soften & improve after opening. On the nose, bright red fruits, plum & herbs and on the palate, dark fruits, earth, vanilla, tobacco & oak. Nice lingering finish. Great week to all! Cheers🍷 — 25 days ago
Wow. Just wow. Silly good. Mineral and floral blast from the get go. Black currant, olive, smoke, tea, woodsy red and black fruit profile. Violets and lilacs and Mediterranean herbs unfurl in the glass over hours, along with complex fruit and spices. So crystalline, elegant, seductive. Light, but minerals are through the roof. And the clarity! This producer works magic with French varieties in Sicily and this feels unexpectedly about terroir.
Tasted alongside a great bottle of Foillard Morgon, which this demolished. Amazing find from @Lyle Fass — 12 days ago
Vibrant, rich black cherry. Tart. How can you not like Lambrusco when it’s done right? — 7 days ago
