En Mag - this is my second time around and celebrated a deal closing - as in 2017 this wine delivered - amazingly it is getting better - this is from a single vineyard at 2000 feet on Howell - this is full bodied mid palette sweet tannins with a rich nose long legs black currant berries and and I think it is getting better - ten plus years left - dark purplish color - I LOVE It and made a nice splash last night — 8 days ago
When considering price, I find it hard to compete with this wine. The new entrance of @Anthony Biagi ‘s Patria is around the only wine I think of. These are beautiful Napa Cabs. Beautiful. Floral. Rich. This one is still slightly tannic and pulls at the mouth but o can imagine it a few years from now approaching the 10s or other years that mellowed out. I could drink @Sean Capiaux ‘s wines every day. — a month ago
Very nice! Fantastic value at around $6 at Trader Joe's — a month ago
Nose has ripe plum, cedar cigar box, lavender, dried blueberries, dried black currant, licorice candy, mashed black cherries with light alcohol heat (assumed from the Zinfandel).
Palate has over-ripe plum, blackberry, milk chocolate, granite dust, violets, cocoa powder, ripe blackberries with still present tannins and a long finish. Spectacular. Drink Magnum's on this 2020-2030, when in proper storage. Based on this evenings performance, I suspect this will be in prime enjoyment 2024+.
1500ml bottle bought from the winery in October 2008; a blend of 58% Zinfandel, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon.
A perfect pairing to amazing seasoned and grilled NY Strip steaks from Kinderhook Farm (Valatie, NY), pulled at 125° and will rested afterwards, barely needed knives this evening! — 2 months ago
Mother nature dealt our friends at Lamborn a difficult hand recently. Due to the ongoing fires in California, they have lost their 2020 crop of cabernet to smoke taint. Our hearts go out to our family at Lamborn. Please keep our good friends in your thoughts, and in your glass. If you’ve never tasted a Lamborn wine, there has never been a better, or more urgent time to do so. We are stocking up on their premium Howell Mtn cab, and their rosé. Tell em that Ronnie and Anne-Marie sent you 🥰 — a month ago

WNH Napa theme along with some new faces.
My second bottle in the past 6 months and this one seemed to be more youthful, with the oak tannin really gripping at the finish. 15yrs young in the glass with dark purple and ruby with only a small touch of bricking at the rim. Aromatically it smells of mixed berry fig, slightly overripe dark fruits (blue and black), dark cocoa, mocha, and some red clay. On the palate, the acidity has mellowed out but the tannin is crazy powerful. The palate shows slightly more to the red fruit spectrum with more old fig and mocha, roasted dark plum, and black currant. This can undoubtedly hold another 5+yrs, but the finish has me thinking it will just be different as opposed to better. — 2 months ago
