Montmain Chablis Premier Cru Chardonnay 2018

First time having Montmain. Lemon curd, lime zest, tons of minerality, precisely driven mouthfeel, salinity, lots of lees contact, mouth filling acidity and a long finish. — 10 days ago

Jas Des Vignes Alpes de Haute-Provence Rosé Blend 2019

Danny wants to override Kevin’s comments. It is great. He’d continue fucking with it. Now we need to see our neighborhood wine guy and buy some more. — 10 days ago

Grand Cru La Grande Cuvée Reserve Grand Cru Champagne

For a slightly more oxidative Champagne, it’s really quite good.

Burrata, roasted garlic, pesto, olive oil, variety of fresh picked garden tomatoes, balsamic, chopped pistachios with crostini’s.

Petit Chablis Chardonnay

A little muted, but you can see the house style. Lemon/lime, minerality, slight lees character, high acid. — 10 days ago

Le Pierrier Mercurey Pinot Noir 2016

More primary and fruit forward than expected but that calmed some with air. Hold or decant if drinking now. — 22 days ago

Pouilly-Fuissé Chardonnay 2017

Another benchmark white burgundy from Pouilly-Fuisse! 30 mins decanting. Pale golden color, medium plus viscosity. On the nose, bouquet was fantastic. Grapefruit, peach, tropical, lilac, and wet stone and flinty. Confirmed most on the pallet with nice long mineral finish. Dry wine, medium acidity, medium plus body (but no oak characters), medium minus alcohol. Well balanced and linear. Still not sure how to start pegging the terroir in the white burgundy AOCs to what’s in the bottle (outside of Chablis, which I am getting ok about picking up). Perhaps the more fuller body on this wine with tropical notes and medium acidity point to the southern and warmer climate appellations in Maconnais! — a month ago
