Traboules Côteaux du Lyonnais Gamay 2015

This is such an aromatically pretty Gamay, with floral, redfruits and some faint violets as well, great balance, soft tannins, just a slight chalky note in the end palate that leads to a lovely, lingering finish, I guess this is what Gamay tastes like when made by an excellent Cote Rotie producer!! — 14 days ago

Great nose and showing signs of maturity. Lurid aromas of red berry fruit, smoked meat, granite, herbs and smoke. Really gorgeous nose. Unreal terroir expression and so so vivid. Brilliant. 9.7 nose. Palate is ripe and juicy with terrific freshness and purity and all red fruits. Maybe a hint of cassis. Such freshness and energy here. Long finish. — 5 months ago

Au-dessus du Gros Mont Champagne Chardonnay

This cuvée belongs at the very top of the Selosse line. Incredible depth of singular aromatics, a seamless marriage of textural richness and elegance and a vibrant chalky mineral-saline finish that just stays with you. Just 600 bottles made. — 6 months ago

Too young, but still delicious. Blue and black fruits, nice tannic structure. Will improve over the next 5+ years. Enjoyed at Mooo in Boston. — 4 months ago

@Byron Hewett Hello Byron. I assume you meant 2021. Did you find this wine reflected the lighter vintage? Many are saying back to “traditional Burgundy “ after the warmer vintages from 2015.

I did mean 2021. My experience with’21 is that it isn’t necessarily lighter. The frost, hail and other pressures dramatically reduced the crop, but most of the wines made are still quite good. Better care in the vineyard, and careful selection of grapes made a huge difference. This wine was no shrinking violet!

Gamay from Cornas. Love this wine. Gorgeous nose of stanky and pungent Gamay fruit. Violets, dark berry, granite and just so floral. Like a flower shop. So juicy and energetic with tremendous fruit and more finesse than previous years. Terrific acidity. Has a hint of rusticity and some big tannins but they are so ripe. Love how at once this is grapey like Gamay can be but also displays the fantastic energy of the granite soils. After 5 hours of air palate is a bit creamier and nose is so much more enveloping. — 5 months ago
