Les Faconnières Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Beautiful wine but quite young. Black cherry, roses, forest floor, cinnamon, clove and still a fair amount of new oak. Drinkable now but I would give it 5 more years. — 8 days ago

Ah… the small mountain of immaculate butter. That and the baguette alone would be a treat of a meal. It was lovely to share a dinner with you after so long.

Yes—hope next time is sooner and seating closer so we can share a few laughs.

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

2017 vintage. Decanted and tasted for the next 5 minutes-2.5 hours. Medium body. Expressive oak and spice wizardry early on with sharp and clearly defined flavors all in a row. After approx 45 mins, the sharpness started to wane a tad and the harmony began to roll in. Good intensity throughout. Coming across this at least a half decade too early but this is built for the long haul vs short-term gratification. 2.10.24. — 15 days ago

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2014

Very closed initially. This was still improving as we ran out of wine. Seemed almost stemmy compared to the Fourrier but Mugnier de-stems everything… — 2 months ago
