Bought at auction. First bottle awful. This one is lovely. Needed two hours of air to settle and integrate. Freeze dried strawberries, dried cherries, plum, dust, herbs like tarragon and thyme on nose. I could smell for hours. Palate is bigger than I expected more game and herbs than fruit. Leather with dried cherries. There’s more herbs and plums and cooked/reduced berries but not super sweet. Good tannin still. Pretty good and fun to try at 26 years. Light on the nose, and medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red cherries, currants, plums, light chocolates, coffee, light wood and black pepper.

Nice tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a very tasty 6 years old Grenache blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and interesting.

Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

The high alcohol is already well integrated. Good by itself as a sipping wine or with food.

A blend of 80% Grenache, 5% Syrah, 5% Cinsault, 5% Mourvedre and 5% Vaccarese, from 50 year old vines. Aged in large French oak barrels for 8 months.

15.5% alcohol by volume.

Bought this as a birthday wine and paired it with some Chinese food lamb and eggplant. It’s impressive how much energy and life is still in this, with the color still a clear deep rose, with the bricking amber colors only showing under sharp lighting on the medium body. The nose is like meaty blueberries and mashed strawberries, maybe even a little plum, with musty bookcase and black olive notes with maybe a hint of blood orange as well. It blends perfectly with food, with deep ripe jammy blueberries and black berries, more black olives, a hint of tar, driftwood, barbecue burnt ends and tannin that’s still very much gripping at the end of the palate. The flavor lingers for a looong time, with hints of celery salt and a kind of inky black saucy flavor, like a dark soy sauce but more vinegary towards the end. Damn fine wine. — 2 days ago

Showing raspberries, strawberries, plums, red currants, earth, light wood, spices, coffee, dark chocolates, light tobacco leaf and peppercorn.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Grenache from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Fresh tasting and already drinking beautifully, even though it is very young. Elegant and nicely balanced. Complex and engaging.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 15 years. Showing good potential to become a 94+ point wine.

On the palate this is all about the texture , quite round but enough balance , blanched almonds , peach. Waxy notes . Good length .
