Very nice white from a relatively small CdP producer I had a chance to visit last year. This bottle took me back! — 14 days ago

Les Abeilles Côtes du Rhône Blanc Roussanne Clairette Blanche 2017

Loads of citrus: lemon oil, grapefruit pith & touch of white pepper on the nose. Palate is the same, not super complex but solid hot weather sipper. — a month ago

Domaine de la Charbonnière

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2020

Young and pale in colour, the 2020 Domaine de la Charbonniere Blanc - the only white wine produced at this historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate - is a medium bodied, elegant wine made with Grenache (40%), Roussanne (40%) and Clairette (20%) from sandy soils in the appellation.

The exuberant nose offers aromas of peach, lavender, pear, cardamom and lime, with a generous hint of salted butter despite the limited use of oak and no malolactic fermentation. The palate is soft and welcoming, with a gorgeous mouthfeel and very concentrated fruit, finishing on a bitter lemon note. The long finish is very satisfying. This would be a brilliant wine for grilled prawns, and I’ll leave it at that. Ageworthy? Not sure, it’s a very complete wine now.

Les Pallieres Racines Grenache Blend 2016

Stewed fruit and red candy. Nice spicy notes. A dusty violet smell. Cherries. Also some cocoa, black licorice and woody tannins on the finish. Elegant overall, this shows an expressive, not overly modern approach. While I find myself wishing it was a touch less ripe and sweet, that is the style I suppose. — 4 days ago

Great QPR at $25.00 per mag
Winery notes,

beautiful terroir skillfully worked by Jérômine Paret and Philippe Garnier. Responding to the call of his parents, Jérômine gave up a career as an English teacher to take over the family estate. She then studied business and allied herself with Philippe Garnier, who has one goal in mind: to achieve excellence. She does not regret her choices today and her customers don't either! Thus, the estate evolves each year with new wines and techniques. The organically-farmed vineyards are planted mostly to Marsanne, and this is reflected in the blend, which also includes Bourboulenc, Clairette, Sauvignon, and Ugni Blanc. Fermented entirely in stainless steel and resin-lined cement vats, the wine shows notes of white flowers including honeysuckle, jasmin, and citrus blossom, while aeration reveals secondary nuances of aniseseed, eucalyptus, and hazelnut.
