Chateau Pontet Bagatelle

Château Pontet-Canet

Les Hauts De Pontet Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

45+ decant but needed closer to 2 hours. Dark purple in color. Nose was all over the place - US, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy. Wine had minimal fruit, plenty of wood, and lots of Portuguese elements. Would have guessed California or Portugal if having blind. Depth was medium as well as the finish. Ample tannins. Expected more from the label and vintage. — 14 days ago

Here’s another smoking good southern french white. Very interesting blend and the first time I can remember seeing Carignan Blanc. Also Roussanne Grenache Blanc and Vermentino. Sulfur needs to blow off. So beautifully textured and detailed. Glides across the palate. Green apple, citrus, almond, custard/fondant/banana on the palate and a floral, carnation (?) finish. Seductive. This would be so fun to throw into a blind tasting. Love. — 3 months ago

Au Fil de Soi Red Blend 2017

Super aromatic, the most of any of the local reds we’ve tried on this trip. Cassis, lavender, white pepper on the nose. Palate is very refined, suave, integrated, drinking very well. Pure cherry and pomegranate, some herbs. Tannins are fresh and lively. very easy to enjoy. — 2 months ago

A lighter style for the appellation, and a case buy at €8.50/ bottle. Red fruited and bright, with a lively finish. — 2 months ago

Rounded out very nicely on day two. I would say that the remaining bottles would peak in two to three years. Not the most complicated wine but a pleasure to drink nevertheless — 3 months ago
