2022/4. This feels more immediately in character for Il Borghetto versus the 2016 Montedesassi. The fruit is more transparent, higher toned. There’s still a bit of wonkiness to work through (the wine is still quite young), but very drinkable and likeable, with depth to chew on. — 3 years ago
A high-end gamay, which at the age of 8 really tastes (great) Burgundy. The nose beautifully mixes infused vegetal notes and red fruits, all supported by delicate oak notes. The mouth is lively, with chew, of great finesse, leading the tasting to a persistent finish. An amateur wine.
— 3 years ago
Why not my favorite vintage so far, I feel this carries the warmth well. Rich and ripe without pushing the limits too much. The extra SY and MO components lend themselves well and this has some flash and darkness that bring a wild side to it all. Ive found some ‘17s to have significant brett but I think this balances well. Tannins are ripe but could use some more time to integrate a touch and soften their chew. Ripe black cherry compote, Chambord, roasted plums, animal, sweet spice and clovey layers of brett. 60 GR 20 SY 18 MO 2 CIN — 5 years ago
2015. Solid Bordeaux, with good fruit concentration but still a bunch of oak to chew through so needs more time to get to the good stuff. Depth of fruit and stone/minerals gives me hope that this will turn out well, just a bit young and pricey at this stage. $60 at GW. — 3 years ago
Described to me as an easy drinker but with enough interest to chew over with grassy, herbal notes. I found this to be spot on. I was also told it's a grape usually used in blends, but put center stage here. That intrigued me. I really enjoyed it and hope i come by it again. — 3 years ago
Vanilla, cardamom, on the nose, slightly astringent, big and meaty. Has a little apple hi-chew if you get it around your tongue. — 4 years ago

A racy Chiroubles. Charming purple dress, medium concentration and beautiful brilliance. Superb peppery nose, airy between bright floral bouquet (Rose, Iris) and vibrant fruits (cherry and raspberry). Concentration, as expected on solar vintages. The mouth is fresh, tense, with few tannins but beautiful chew. Great drinkability, served refreshed (12/14 degrees) and airy, it's a dangerous drink!
— 3 years ago
