Château Pontet Barrail

Château Pontet-Canet

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2000

Brilliant Paulliac tonight with A5 Wagyu. Classic nose and great medium/full body to this beauty. Sous bois, cassis and leather and bring this into a beautiful long finish. Surprisingly took about an hour decant but just opened up lovely. — 3 days ago

St. Émilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

9.2

Rounded out very nicely on day two. I would say that the remaining bottles would peak in two to three years. Not the most complicated wine but a pleasure to drink nevertheless — 3 months ago

Château Barrail Tapon

Montagne Saint Emilion Merlot Cabernet Franc 2019

2019 vintage. Château Barrail Tapon, Montagne Saint Emilion. As this is the fourth impeccable wine with amazing value mentioning "vignobles Gabriel & co" this week, it seems safe to say that it is a quality label. This one is a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc and it's juicy, fruity and fresh with ripe tannin and good length. Another great value at less than 7 euros. — 5 days ago

Les Hauts De Pontet Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

45+ decant but needed closer to 2 hours. Dark purple in color. Nose was all over the place - US, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy. Wine had minimal fruit, plenty of wood, and lots of Portuguese elements. Would have guessed California or Portugal if having blind. Depth was medium as well as the finish. Ample tannins. Expected more from the label and vintage. — 17 days ago
