Predictably reductive and tight initially but incredible depth and purity here. Pandemic relief purchase back in 2020 from a restaurant cellar by the unfailingly generous @Steven Perlman — 13 days ago
One of the 1001 wines. The brilliance of Mesnil is on show in Les Chetillons - let’s not forget that two of the most prestigious Champagnes are from here too, Salon and Krug’s Clos de Mesnil. This is much more reasonably priced than those two. When poured this has a very fine bead with voluminous mousse. The colour of bright straw yellow. The palate had broad developed notes with mushroom and toasted hazelnuts in the aromas. After a while a delightful note of poached pear. — 23 days ago
There’s 2015 white burg and there’s 2015 white burg. This is the latter. Undoubtedly this family made some of the very best whites in the warm 2015 vintage, managing to capture a perfect blend of richness, fruit density and racy acids. 2015 Genevrières is stunning tonight, showing all of the above with the elegance of the Genevrières site on full display, with immense depth and captivating aromatics. Its struck match-lemon cream pie bouquet makes the glass hard to put down. Textbook Meursault and a tremendous rendition in 2015. — a month ago

Red raspberry fruit and white pepper, good but lacking in complexity compared to the Juge and Jamet tasted with it. — 9 days ago
