Château Latour Languir

Louis Latour

Aloxe-Corton Grand Cru Domaine Latour Pinot Noir 2008

Had this at a tasting and bought several bottles, aged well, just opened last one. Aged for about 12 months in French oak barrels (15% new). Ruby, brown edges, with aromas of red and black stewed fruits and complex spice. On the palate, flavors of layered fruit, ripe black cherry and raspberry with cedar, tobacco, herbs and nutty notes. Full soft tannins, balanced acidity, long ending with fruit and earthy character. Outstanding! Worth the wait! — 12 days ago

I’ve got quite a few. Drinking now. Thinking it would be better in 18 months.

Do you chill your glasses? Noticing a fog an assume that’s the reason?

Funny you noticed that. Generally I don’t. The person I was with is beyond a geek. Stuck them in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and pull them out. Personally don’t notice much of a difference. He enjoys drinking burgundy at cellar temperature… with the glass being close to that.

Grand Ardèche Chardonnay 2018

Beautiful straw gold color. Nice aromas of yellow apple, white flowers, vanilla and toast. Pallet features apple and toasty oak with a quite nutty finish. Round, full and rich. Powerful, but not overwhelming. Persistent finish. Thank You so much Kasey and Petey! — 7 days ago

Lord knows SB is not my preferred white but this had some character. Dried fruit and a slight nuttiness, def recommend. — a day ago

Beaulieu Vineyard

Private Reserve Georges de Latour Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

Blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon & 6% Petit Verdot, BV grapes were first planted back in 1900, by founder Georges de Latour. Outstanding! Deep dense Ruby with complex berry fruit aromas wrapped in toasty spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and sweet plum with licorice and cacao, adding cedar and tobacco notes. Soft velvet tannins, still young, long finish, well integrated and nicely balanced, a joy to drink. Will age a long time. A Wow factor wine!! — 13 days ago

Les Forts de Latour Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

A hearty and rich Forts, could bluff its way to a 1st growth blind. Consensus was this needed more time but decanting a few hours brought out sweet layers of cedar and dark red berry. Monster nose. — a month ago
