Saumur Tradition Cabernet Franc Rosé 2017

Just concluded the annual Fall seclusion at our cabin in the Rangeley lakes region of Maine, mobile service up there is mostly non-existent, after several days I am posting again. Notes are somewhat brief, as my focus is relaxing and watching the Common Loons swimming and diving in the cove in front of our camp.

Nose has washed raspberries, sliced Clementine orange, peach skin and moist chalk.
Palate has dried orange, partially-dried cherry, peach skin and (minor) dried raspberry. Light acidity remains, our final bottle, this was a good run.

Cabernet Franc 2018

This is a nice and light Cabernet Franc from Virginia. Showing red and blue fruits with earth, honeysuckle, chocolates, oak, vegetables and spices.

Light ruby in color with medium intensity.

Very pretty nose, sweet and flowery.

Medium bodied with medium acidity.

Good right out of the bottle., light and airy. Would be nice to revisit it in a couple of years.

A good food wine that I paired with a charcuterie board of meats and cheeses olive crackers.

12% alcohol by volume.

Crémant de Loire Brut Rosé

It is Saturday night and I have opened the Maurice Bonnamy Crémant de Loire Rosé Brut. A blend of 100% Cabernet Franc grapes from south of Saumur.

On the nose there I find strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, minerality and some yeasty qualities.

On the palate there are notes of strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, bell pepper, yeast and food minerals.

This sparkling wine has a beautiful salmon pink color with a constant fine bead that is medium bodied with high acidity and a long fresh, crisp, clean finish. Continued good health and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Classic Chinon nose. Wet leaves, earth, herbaciousness, leather, feral, hay, olives as the name implies, cassis, mint and tree bark. So complex. Aged. Classic classic stuff. Palate is silky and sweet with incredible freshness and acidity. Elegant and tart with a red currant like sweetness. A barely type of red fruited sweetness. Very elegant and refined Olive.
