Cuvée Gaia Muscadet 2017

Gorgeous muscadet. Saline nose, palate is mineral-driven, massive note of oyster shell, citron, creamy, medium acid, medium finish. Like a Chablis from the sea. Beautiful work. — 2 years ago

Andre Chatenoud Lussac-St. Émilion Sauvignon Gris 2015

This was really tasty: a varietal you don’t see much anymore, it was a slightly darker golden color given its age w/green undertones. Some orchard fruit but more green citrus & guava w/distinct musky feral quality. Smooth silky a bit waxy on palate, reminded me of Semillon or Torrontes in texture. Very pleasant acidity & fruit flavors - kiwi, guava, some lemon & lime, stoniness, also that wild musky element. For like $10 this overdelivers big time. — a month ago

Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

2015 vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. If you are looking for blockbusters this might not be your thing. I used to think of Fronsac as very rustic wines that often lacked charm, but these days many fine wines can be found here. This one is all about elegance and gentle extraction. Ripe cassis and flowers in the nose. Gentle and effortless in the mouth, elegant and fresh with good spicy minty length. Lovely. Abv. 13,5 %. — 2 years ago

Bellevue Morgon Gamay 2019

Lovely cherry and strawberry nose, with a hint of vanilla and floral. And wow. Fruit forward with all the aforementioned notes, silky smooth and it just lingers on the palate. It's a summer fling in a glass, and you won't get in trouble with the spouse! Delightfully complex but oh so drinkable. Love love love — 2 months ago

Château Bellevue Peycharneau

Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Nice dark color. Nose: earthy (earthworm!), something distinctly plant like or vegetal, almost a little seaweed (?), chlorine (???!?), soft cheese / ammonia - herbs - light/bright wood - a little currant. Taste: good! Good mouthfeel, nice drying tannins, dark skinned berries, herbs, all comes together in a nice weighty way. 90! Great deal for $11 on sale, $10 after discount! Definitely need to buy more. EDIT: wife strongly dislikes it, she says it tastes and smells “like a cheap hotel pool.” I know what flavor(s) she is talking about (the chlorine/earth/soft cheese element), but it worked for me. YMMV. — 6 months ago
