Golden hay color. Banana, peach, pineapple, honey, apple, pear on the nose. Rich and buttery on the palate. Lychee, vanilla, cream. Distinct palate, but I prefer a less oaky chard. — 4 months ago
This is one of my go to wines because it’s classic and goes well with many things. More in the oakier side and slightly heavy but I love the buttery flavor. — 5 months ago
I’ve now had 3 consecutive vintages (‘20-‘22) of this iconic Chardonnay, and even with the hefty price tag, it has always delivered. Big and bold but I wouldn’t say buttery, tropical fruit salad, exceptional balance with great acidity and a long, high end finish. One of those rare times when the hype is deserved. $70-$75 — 5 months ago
One of my favorite chardonnays. Soft and fresh — 2 months ago
Great Chardonnay - buttery — 3 months ago
Unscrewed and poured; no formal notes. These friggen Chardonnays from Margaret River. I’ve been blinded on them too many times to count and I never call it right. Instead, I always seem to call a high acid grape like Riesling of Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit is sometimes tropical, always with citrus and sometimes is shows green apple and always with awesome minerals. Acid is squarely in the high category. They are lovely wines that just seem to throw me for a loop. If Chablis, the Mosel and Sancerre had a love child. Drink now and through 2036 easy. A fabulous pairing with lamb massaman, larb and papaya salad. How can they hide the 100% new French oak so well?! — 4 months ago
Pear and lemon, medium acidity, buttery finish, paired well with oysters and a rare ahi tuna steak. — 3 months ago
Medium lemon straw centre . Quite aromatic on the nose , lemon curd , peach , touch of pineapple and toasty oak. On the palate rich and big boned , lots of toasty lemon peal , apricot and creamy peach notes , decent acidity and just balanced alcohol , quite a mouthful however . Ok length with the toasty , buttery elements and ripe yellow fruits dominating . I would be tempted to drink this over the next 5-8 years as I don’t think it has the acidic backbone to take it long haul. — 3 months ago
