We must be getting old as my homeboy & I remembered when this was 20$— now it’s north of 79$. First, that incredible, shimmering copper color, as if a siren call to the rewards that await. So many layers that never seem to stop: sherry- like on nose, with high pitched iodine, but deeper & round on the palate. Hints of bergamot, cinnamon bark, oyster mushroom, clove, faded citrus fruit. So so alive. What a treat. Part 2 with slow roasted grapefruit chicken, roasted eggplant with yogurt sauce & the early innings of a another wild Mets win. — 5 days ago
Red cherry, strawberry, plum, fresh herbs, balsamic, and hint of lavender fills an aromatic and deep nose. Soft juicy entry with flavors mimic the nose but lightly candied. Medium to full body that’s beautifully textured. Bright acidity and polished tannins.
This is in great contrast to Alto Moncayo, showing off PN-like elegance. Still packing a punch though. Need to find couple of bottles to cellar. — 16 days ago
Deep Ruby red color with aromas of black and red fruit, with a soft cedar fragrance. This 100% Tempranillo wine, from 100-Year Old vines, was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels. On the palate flavors of ripe red cherries, dried fruit, cacao, spice and tobacco. The wine still has plenty of acidity and soft round tannins, well structured. Full-bodied, long finish ending with some oak and earthy mineral ending. Very nice, drink now! — 19 days ago
