Consistently good wine, regardless of the vintage. Sure, some years you get better value (11 year old wine available this year vs 14 year old wine last), but it’s still $32, even after all these years.
Complex. Leather. Tobacco. Oak. Some dark fruit.
Give this some time to open up and *chefs kiss*

Vanilla is known as ‘the salt of the baking world’ and this wine embodies that. Velvety smooth vanilla, maybe black cherry or Concord grape, peppercorn, tea leaf. I was skeptical at first finding an 11 year old wine in 2021 that had bottle gimmicks like fake gold wire, but is worth the 30$CAD if you can find it!

Tasted at the winery, they are going through a renovation of the visitor center. Kindly, we were greeted and offered to taste the 2010. Color mild intensity, medium body, a little watery. Nose with cherry fruit notes. Palate not dense, tanins still need to rest.

Not the most expressive nose—iron, red meat. Medium palate; bright cherry, leather, spice. Balanced acid. Prefer LdH rusticity but this is a solid buy and well worth laying down.
