Blend of 85% Tempranillo, 10% Garnacha and 5% Graciano, aged in oak for 20 months, deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of berry fruits, cigar bo spice with earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth, elegant with layers of flavors, blackberry and sour cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine soft chewy tannins resembling a Nebbiolo, clean structure ending with a nice long chalky earthy character. — 9 months ago
100% Kerner produced from a high altitude, biodynamic vineyard in an off-dry style; a style I typically don’t enjoy. But tonight is not a typical night because our dear friends prepared Bo Ssam for dinner and I figured this might just be an appropriate pairing. Light straw color in the glass. Medium to high viscosity. Honeysuckle, honeydew melon, white flowers, and white peach dazzled the nose. There was the slightest hint of gas, presenting as a light prickly sensation to the tongue however, that quickly dissipated. Apricot, melon, citrus and minerals dance across the palate and each sip begged for another bite of the Bo Ssam...which in turn begged for another sip of the Radoar. I should note that there is great acid here, balancing out the RS to perfection. And while I still don’t prefer this style, I can not deny how lovely this was with such a fine meal. I wouldn’t bat an eye at making this selection again. What a delight! — 4 years ago
