Pretty closed nose , a little bit funky, touch of sous bois . On the palate better , with touches of sous bois , cassis, good roundness , then a bit foursquare and dry on the finish, ok acidity , slightly bitter tannins . Not the best bottle of this . From past experience benefits from time in the glass , at peak , drink from now over the next 5-8 years . — 9 months ago
Deep ruby in color, almost Inky, with a short reddish rim.
Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.
Very dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing blueberries, plums, cooked cherries, black currants, light cedar, dark coffee, chocolates, earth, peppercorn, pencil lead, tobacco leaf, light vegetables and bitter herbs.
Short, tangy finish with fine grained tannins and pomegranates.
This 8 year old Rioja Reserva is still young and very dry, but already drinkable.
Lacking a bit of fruits on the palate, but the nose is gorgeous, once it opens up. The nose is more interesting than the palate at this point.
Needs a few hours to open up properly, so take your time.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years. Would be interesting to try it again in 5 years.
A good food wine that will pair nicely with a nice piece of steak.
A blend of 70% Tempranillo, 20% Garnacha, 7% Mazuelo and 3% Graciano.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Dark and bitter! Delicious. — 2 years ago
Delicious. Complex nose has plenty of ooozing, sappy dark cherry fruit, a decent amount of toasty, clove-like French oak, spice, warm moist loam. The palate is more minerally, with lots of crushed rock and salinity. Bone dry, but with mouth-clinging dark cherry extract. As slight bitter note at the tail end of the finish, which is long. The acids are there but soft, and there’s some very soft tannin, so this will certainly age at least a few years.
UPDATE: On night 2, the oak is much better integrated and the wine is more settled and complex. Upping from 9.2 to 9.3. — a year ago
Enjoy the best, the “King” of Vermouth. Aromas of raisins, figs, dates and almonds. The flavors are beautiful blend of cocoa, bitter orange marmalade and hints of exotic spices and vanilla. Rivals the best Madeira. — 3 years ago

+2 hour decant(decent chunky/fine sediment). A wondrous dark garnet with bricking. On the nose: perfumed notes of stewed plum, currants, old leather, cigar box, smoked meat, truffles, and touch of mint. Taste: silky, exquisite wine with red cherry/plum, old leather, dusty chiseled granite, bitter chocolate, cedar, and a dry graphite/coffee long finish. YUM! Drinks beautifully and should hold for more years of awesomeness. — 19 days ago
