Color me shocked at how good this was. I’m a big fan of Antica Terra wines, and while I’m always impressed, my expectations for this 10yr old OR Chardonnay were vastly blown out of the water.
The main reason I opened this bottle is I thought the age would have been more evident, and it would be channeling a more rich, slightly oxidized type profile, and would go with an assortment of blue cheese I was sampling at a small local event. Upon opening, color is still gorgeously yellow gold. First impression was it came across thin yet still had really vibrant acidity…very steely and mineral driven. About an hour later, this absolutely exploded out of the glass as of it was a different wine. Pear, grilled lemon and lots of honeysuckle aromatics. It bulked up on the palate with supreme texture and balance showing a kiss of oak. Creamy yet weightless. Lemon confit, honeyed golden delicious apple, sea spray, and a rounded finish with plenty of baking spices yet the core of minerality was still there. This left me scratching my head in a good way…I seriously need to find another. This is the best OR Chardonnay I’ve ever had. — 19 days ago
July 7, 2021. Dinner w/KK 😁 Jack D, and J2. Celebrating KK return to CoMO, albeit just a visit. She brought pizza, I pulled out this wine. Perfect w/pizza and a lovely super Tuscan from Maremma. 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot. Slightly different than the 2012 vintage I drank and rated in March. This is just as yummy, though less aged so more fruit (dark cherry) and less earth and leather. Still wonderful. Drank both bottles I had. Need more! — 14 days ago
A polarizing wine without question, but one that I am absolutely enthralled with every time I open a bottle. This, SQN and Andremily’s rosés all belong to a special group that does not follow red wines steps, nor rosés…a category all to their own.
This would be a perfect candidate for a black glass tasting. Texturally and structure wise, this is like a mix of whole cluster Pinot with a hint of Syrah. Dark ruby in the glass. Aromatically it has ripe strawberry, sage and whole cluster spice. Concentrated, yet light and vibrant on the palate. Bing cherry, cran-raspberry, black tea, peppercorn crusted rhubarb notes but also a light streak of iron down the middle. Not quite sanguine, but plenty of punch and spice to the fruit.
These can age really well (oldest I’ve had was one with 6yrs, and it was fantastic), so no rush. If you’re looking for a typical rosé profile, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for something you’ve likely not experienced before, you’ll be glad you tried this. — a month ago

Great red! Apple fruit, licorice, leather, slightly peppery, and tart. Really nice chilled too. — 23 days ago
Would stack rank below Lynmar and Williams Selyem. Well priced at discounted price of $30. Had with rigatoni with tomato sauce and mussels and beans. — a month ago
Great mix of fruit and earth. Delicious. Drank the 2019 in July 2021. — a day ago
