It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.
Deep purple in color with a short reddish rim.
Strong nose of blackberries, cooked plums, ripe cherries, earth, cedar, licorice, eucalyptus, spices, chocolates, dark coffee and peppercorn.
Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and fruity on the palate with plums, black currants, coffee, oak, vanilla, spices, licorice, peppercorn, dark coffee, tobacco leaf, earth and light black tea.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Merlot based blend from Bordeaux. Showing nice complexity, a teeth staining color, and a nice mouthfeel.
Still young and will be even better in the next 10 to 15 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after a couple of hours.
Very enjoyable by itself or with food. I paired it with a roasted lamb dish.
A blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc. Kosher and not Mevushal.
15% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

👃 Ripe plum, moist prune, damp mahogany shavings, wet leather, dried blackberries, pencil lead, cherry syrup | 👅 Dark chocolate covered blackberries, plum skin, cocoa powder, dehydrated Bing cherries.
Cork pulled, double decant, 10H rest at time of notes.
Paired to a slow & low baked beef tenderloin with roasted root vegetables, several hours of low temperature patience required for a reward of a beautiful beef (Kinderhook Farm; Valatie, NY) roast at ~135°F. — 12 days ago
WOW!!! Beautiful ruby color with a bit of garnet around the rim. Beautiful aromas of black fruit, rose petals, vanilla and spices. Black cherry, plum, pepper spice fill the pallet. Touch of eucalyptus on the finish. Elegant and refined. Tannins are there but firmly in check. Outstanding! Thank you so much Kasey and Petey! — 6 days ago
Much hyped as one of the best Rose out there. More orange in colour than pink. Pretty much the classic nose and what you would expect. There is a very pleasant salty minerality at the beginning that sadly went away. In the end i think the difference between a good, bad and excellent Rose will always be minimal. I do like a Rose but paying anything over €15 seems like a waste of money — 5 days ago

This was a real interesting wine. A Cab from Napa valley where they blend the latest year with all the previous years. They have done that for at least 13 years. So, indeed, a single variety blend of time in a bottle. If I understood it correctly, they add two barrels a year to blend with the previous years and bottle two barrels a year that they sell, about 600 bottles. We had bottle 320 of year X.
The wine was extremely good! Nearly perfect. Like a Trojan horse entering with polished but intense tannins that bursted open in rich dark fruit flavors with hints of dark leather and tobacco. It lingered for minutes on the finish. — a month ago
