NV Series No. 001. This was one of the collaboration wines made with their sister winery Old Westminster. Cabernet Sauvignon soaked for three days on Burnt Hill Regent pomace then blended with 15% Estate Merlot and aged in a large ash foudre. Dark fruit and spice and paired exceptionally well with a delicious dark chocolate crémeux! — 3 months ago
Not sure about the Elkton part, the back label states “2022 Oregon white table wine”, Lot #001, Ovum Wines, Dundee Oregon. A tasty Riesling-forward blend, good acid, off dry. Still good value and a reliable go to pour. I’d still prefer it drier, but this way there’s more to share — 2 years ago
The great MONOPOLE of the estate. Stunning, “why you pay big bucks for Burgundy” type of perfume. Deep and penetrating aromas of black raspberry, violet pastille, stunning deep and clean minerals, hints of game and smoked meats. Floral. Just so so complex. So lifted and layered. Truly truly just a ridiculous nose. Super elite. Palate is immaculate. The finesse is top .001% and the density is crazy allied with that finesse and super impressive pure, deep and vivid fruit. So sappy and stoney. Young obviously as this is the top red at Bouley, but what noble fruit and how it saturates the palate and stays there. So so complex but this wine has so much more to say. I’ll be back. Score will likely go higher. — 6 years ago
