2019 vintage. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (72%) with 20% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot. Black fruit, spices and noticeable oak. A little severe at this stage, but should age well.

Drank 8/10/21.
No formal notes taken, but a lovely bottle that's drinking beautifully.

Still quite austere, this Latour-Mattillac from the superstar 2010 vintage is a dark, brooding and full-blooded wine from Pessac-Léognan that will be far greater in 5/10+ years’ time. Better on the second day than the first (despite a two hour decant), it showed the traditional medley of dark fruit, cassis, wet gravel and grip, but with a profile more similar to its neighbours further north than what one may consider ‘typical’ Graves. But make no mistake: this is an exceptional Bordeaux worthy of long-term cellaring, and one with a hence attractive price tag.

Excellent well rounded...tannins smooth but present, high acid..earth/mushrooms...cherry, dark plums present and present which I expect for 2010. Just an absolute well balanced wine with our chicken stew fireside seating is on point.

Fine silky tannins give way to blackberries and spices. Smooth as a babies bottom With medium acidity. Drinking beautifully with 40 min decant.

Modern style, but true to 2010: structured, taut and high-toned. Cabernet Sauvignon dominant; cigar box & cassis. Tannic. A long-distance runner. #pessacleognan #bordeaux #cabernetsauvignon
