A classic Bordeaux styled wine meets a Spanish legendary producer. Shockingly easy to enjoy now, this is quite a different experience than I was expecting. Though somewhat divergent from its typically firmer structure, it was great because we had it with a meal and could enjoy it immediately. The color has a deep purple-red core, with vibrant ruby edges. The nose was youthful with a medium+ intensity , showing dark red and black fruits, mocha and coffee bean. The flavors came in waves on the palate, layering with elegance and consistency to a long, fruit, oak and subtle spice finish. 95% Tinto Fino (#tempranillo) 3% Cabernet Sauvignon 2% Merlot and in the past sometimes 1% Malbec when it was worth adding (currently does not exist as it was recently uprooted). Typically 180k bottles of production.
Red garnet core with an edge of ruby.
Elegant red fruits, earth, mushroom and a beam of clean and well integrated oak.
Palate is juicy, fresh with excellent acidity and ripe and fine, but firm medium-full grain tannins.
