Estate Bottled Goldridge Vineyard Pinot Noir 2007

Tasting of 10 of the 2007-2011 Dehlinger Pinots. Eva Delingher was kind enough to join our tasting and answer all of our random questions. This 2007 seemed to have some VA(?) my #9 of 10 — 5 months ago

Gut Oggau

Joschuari Rot Blaufränkisch 2014

Austria case #9: the bottle says 2014 and the cork says 2015.... so..? Red fruit, acid driven. Quite tart but not giving much at first—did open up with time. No sulfur and unfiltered but totally clean. Certainly intriguing. — a year ago

Franz Hirtzberger

Singerriedel Smaragd Riesling 2015

One of the best Austrian white wine I've tasted in years. Surprisingly rich for a Riesling, well-balanced in acidity and sweetness. Can be drunk now or hold. This wine was listed by James Suckling as #9 in the top 100 wines in 2016. Among the top 10 wines in this list, this is the only white wine. Looking forward to taste it again in some years. — 3 years ago

Kosta Browne

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2018

My #9 in this 2007-2018 vertical, and it was the 2018. I didn’t think it was necessarily that young but maybe for me the KB‘s need to age a bit longer to really realize their potential. 30% - 40% from Gaps Crown in this vintage. — 8 months ago

Hoffman Dallwitz Little Wine IV Syrah

Very dense ruby. Aromas of ripe black plum with a note of prune. Silky palate showing its old vine origins / supple slippery tannins. This wine is instantly loveable by all who taste it and ridiculous value at only $38 back when I bought it. To pay that amount for what is essentially a hand made wine of small production from ancient Shiraz vines is a wonderful thing and explains why Fraser sells out every year in a few weeks. This is my oldest Little Wine (#4) which combines vintages 2012, 2013 and 2014 - all good vintages. Just bought Fraser’s latest offering from the 2018 vintage today - includes Little Wine #9 — 2 years ago

Crozes-Hermitage Syrah 2015

Excellent. Strong, funky note of wet wood on the nose, along with floral notes (roses) once it opens a bit. Some soap too. Structured on the palate, some tannin. This is really good, especially for $25. Pandemic bottle #9. — a year ago
