Les Terrasses Côtes du Ventoux Red Rhone Blend 2020

Pretty good for an inexpensive Rhône blend. Wood, spice, berry, a bit of tannin. — a month ago

Garmón

Ribera del Duero Tempranillo 2019

High altitude, century-old Tempranillo produced by Mariano Garcia and his sons? Yes please. Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Better on Day 2. The 2019 Garmón pours a deep purplish ruby with what’s essentially an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of dark fruit: dark cherries, Marionberry, figs, roasted red peppers, bay leaf, dry earth, cedar, and gentle baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finish is long and rich and super satisfying. To be frank, this was merely a good wine on Day 1. On Day 2, this was showing some serious quality and impeccable balance. The best sip was the last sip. You can drink now with a huge decant but these will be better after 2029 and should drink very well through 2040+. — a month ago

Beaujolais Villages Gamay 2021

juicy, tannic gamay with black cherry and some plum flavors, it feels like it has residue on the tongue adding some funk to the glass. i had this w/ maitake mushrooms on the menu at lalou. it’s really unique. i haven’t had a gamay with that much texture to it. i am a fan. — 2 months ago

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2005

What a special treat!!! So enthralled by the moment that I forgot to take a photo with the dessert last night. 😜 This wine was stunning! Layered, complex, balanced. Pronounced and concentrated notes of dried apricot, peach preserves, marmalade, orange zest, Meyer lemon peel, citrus blossom, gardenia, cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, lavender honey, and beeswax. It coated the palate with a lasting finish. Again, such an absolute treat!! — 2 months ago
