2016 is a relatively week vintage for Argentina Malbec but this shows exceptionally well.
Fragrant and layered, the nose shows ripe blackberries, plums, vanilla, nutmeg, touch of tobacco, and hint of dusty violets. Juicy and refined palate with fine balance of fresh acidity and plush fruits. Velvety tannins.
Not very complex and deep, but this has the elegance that I don’t often see with bottles in this price range. Peaking now. — 3 months ago

This wine will give the run for the money (around $20-ish), taste a fell absolute Lucius, a beautiful concept guided by legendary Michel Roland from a single vineyard at the valley de Uco, Argentina. A complex blend dominated by half (50%) Malbec, 24% Merlot, 11% Syrah, 7% cab sauv, 3% Petit Verdot, and 5% Cab Franc. Tanning are solid, inky and waxy texture with a long finish. NOSE: wood ash, cherry, earthworm, moldy books. Ehhh.
TASTE: actually pretty good. Blackberry, cherry, wood ash tannin, balancing acidity. Not as good as I’d hoped, but got it on closeout. 89.
