Wow what an old timer wine showing beautifully right off the bat. Beautiful plummy earthy rich nose into balanced still lively palate and firm texture into a harmonious and long finish. Pleasure to drink. A surprise for a 32 year old but probably from the glory days of this vineyard and varietal? Perfect for the leftover cheese ML brought weeks ago, Formaggio’s Twin Farm Goat Tomme Goats Milk from West Cornwall VT. Half bottle downed, unusual for me. Well, after three days of DE beer (quite good) and dinners alone! — 5 years ago

IPA

Re-review of this classic landmark beer, why? New label, new description on label, this was and still is such a important beer in the craft beer Community, brewed since 1997 and still stands as one of the best IPA' s in the world, Centennial, Chinook and Magnum hops give it that classic base of West Coast IPA, that started the whole IPA movement in other beers and breweries, this was the beer that set the stage for what is now the great IPA 's in the west and east coast, such a monumental and important beer, The influence cannot be understated, still as I said, it holds its place as a great beer today — 10 years ago

Rôtie Cellars

Southern Blend Washington State Grenache Blend 2016

After three unsuccessful Piemontese pulls to go with my Piemontese dish, I finally decided that the wine pairing gods were sending me a signal, so like Justice William O. Douglas, I went west, [not so] young man. And this Grenache-based blend was very nice. Nose had warm, mossy stones, warm kirsch, roasted herbs and campfire. Mouthfilling fruit on entry, but very quickly turns savory and minerally. A bit more tannic than previous vintages I’ve had of this wine. — 5 years ago

@Trixie Trixie growing up on a family farm I learned that the most important things in life are family, friends and health. With those you have everything and without them you have nothing. Cheers 🍻🇨🇦

@P A You are astute with your life's learning. I also grew up on a farm with cattle and horses. I am still very much attached to nature and it's wonders.

@Trixie I will always love being on the ranch over being in the city. I have people ask me if I miss all the things that you can do in the city and maybe we don’t have everything we want but we do have everything we need. Like you I do like animals. Cheers 🍷🇨🇦

Second bottle is even better. Sour Brett character is more integrated. Tons of lime, lime zest, sea salt, tropical fruit with papaya. Just outstanding but still very sour. — 6 years ago

Barrel Aged Narwhal Imperial Stout 2020

Wow is this easy to drink. Nose is typical chocolate, bitters, hint of spice. The palate is strikingly more complex. I get cocoa, herbs, hops. This tastes like an excellent 80% cocoa chocolate bar with just a hint of bourbon barrel. Not as much as barrel/bourbon as some. This is a sipping beer and improves with air and warmth. Part of the Ales for ALS west coast case. Will 100% buy again. — 6 years ago

Earn Your Keep is an excellent beer. As before, it's a lighter, cleaner expression of the New England Pale Ale style. Refreshing, it would be ideal after a hike in the brewery's neighborhood. — 8 years ago

Alpine Beer Company

Nelson Golden Rye India Pale Ale

Stop!!! This is not a Alpine Beer, this was brewed by Green Flash, I have been to Alpine and have enjoy this beer, not to say it is a bad beer, but if you want the great beer that Alpine brews, you have to go to the brewery, it is in a Green Flash bottle and states it is brewed in San Diego, not Alpine, what is different is the Nelson hops are muted, it is more bitter, does not have the white wine characteristics, not a clean finish, wow, what a big disappointment, still a very good west IPA, but not world class as the original — 10 years ago
