Pungent, interesting wine. Crushed flowers, overly ripe plum, sour cherries, ripe raspberries, maybe bark. Astringent. Serious wine. Open this way in advance. — 5 months ago

I could live on this. Alpine tiny red berry intensity, medium/lightish weight, firm tannins, opens up to lusher, crushed red fruits with air, feels like it never swerves off (whatever is) the path too far. Prominent acidity but in a cool menthol tone which drives it all along. Sure, has to drink in the next 1-3 years, but at about 17$…..Given all the Barbera in the blend, I can imagine pairing with most dishes, including tomato based bouillabaisse. 65% Picotener (“the forgotten Nebbiolo “/30% Barbera/5% Neretto. — 24 days ago

Really good wine — 4 years ago
This is a beautifully elegant nebbiolo with generous aromatics, a silky smooth mouthfeel, and refined tannins providing just a touch of grip on the finish. Notes of cherry, mint, and white pepper come through on the nose, and on the palate additional flavors of cloves, orange zest, and violet add complexity. Finish Is moderately long, with lingering notes of spice, cherry, and bitter orange. This paired well with pan-seared duck breast and a port wine blueberry reduction sauce. Light/medium bodied with high acidity. — 25 days ago

This wine is extremely dark in color, almost black. Aromas of blackberry, plum, and cassis dominate the nose, with a peppery note also in play. Cedar and vanilla are present, too. The cork, in fact, is one of the most aromatic corks I have ever sniffed. Black fruit defines the palate. Earthy mineral tones give the wine a savory aspect. Tannins are bold, even after decanting. Pair it with a robust meat, like lamb or game. — 14 days ago
