Pungent, interesting wine. Crushed flowers, overly ripe plum, sour cherries, ripe raspberries, maybe bark. Astringent. Serious wine. Open this way in advance. — 3 months ago

Surprising and unique. Much more earthy than other Taurasis I’ve tried. I think I like it. But also not sure. Need to try again. About $60. — a month ago

Pale lemon in colour. From Campania arguably the home of Fiano not forgetting it is also grown in Sicily. Restrained aromas of pear, honeysuckle and apple. Those descriptors coming through on the medium bodied palate finishing dry with stacks of salinity. Refreshing and moreish. — 8 months ago
The 2022 vintage Fiano di Avellino from Ciropicariello starts with a rich straw-almost golden color to the eyes and unfolds in time on the nose with abundant floral notes and hints of honey. With a chance to breathe the palate evolves into a surprisingly mouth-coating viscosity that’s held together by its mineral driven heart. It’s a fuller-bodied example of the grape than what I’ve come across before and it earns it. — 10 months ago
Ruby color, medium plus acidity, high tannin. On the nose dark cherry and gamey notes. Taste of tart cherry, cranberry. Needs at least 60 min decant. — 2 months ago
Opened at least an hour prior to service. The 2016 Furore Bianco “Fiorduva” pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with beautiful notes of yellow and white flowers, quince, kumquat, and saline minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This wine is simply awesome. I’d love more of this in my life. Drink now. — 6 months ago
Popped and poured into red Solo cups. The 1997 “Radici” Riserva pours a garnet color with a near opaque core and a slightly orange rim; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe, tart, and some desiccated fruit: Montmorency cherry, plum, licorice, smoked meat, balsamico, a mix of organic and inorganic earth, exotics spices and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tanning and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and earthy. This was quite the departure from the Napa wines surrounding it but made a statement. Drink now through 2037. — 9 months ago
