Popped and poured; no formal notes. Opened this to sip on while I made sauce for dinner and it hits the spot 👌🏽. The 2019 Isole e Olena CC is clean and expressive with dusty dark cherries, black tea, orange pith, dry earth. Good structure for a variety of meals. Bone dry. A long, slightly bitter finish. A textbook CC. Drink now or over the next 5-10 years. — 8 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim. This 7 year old is showing a great nose now.
Dry on the palate with medium plus acidity.
Showing red and black fruits with wood, earth, herbs, spices, wild flowers, chocolates, leather, tobacco leaf, dark coffee and black pepper.
This is a delicious, yet very young, Sangiovese from Chianti. Nicely balanced, powerful and tangy.
This 2016 vintage holds great promise for aging gracefully over the next two decades. However, at present, it has yet to fully reach its full potential. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
Would have been nice to have it decanted for a few hours, but it wasn't my call. I had it blind, so it is what it is.
I paired it with a Charcuterie board of meats and cheeses.
100% Sangiovese grapes.
14% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Bramble, black cherry, peppercorn, and honey nose. True vanilla bean (with a mild kick), mild capsaicin (green pepper or pepper jelly?), ripe fig. Drank at Margot’s in New Orleans. — 16 days ago
Classic super Tuscan. Already in the drinking zone. Plush, round and dense in the mouth. Nose is attenuated with hints of barrel toast. Mid palate is almost honied. Medium tannins with soft acidity. Nice long tail to finish. Almost no acidity to talk about. I’m not sure this can be cellared for too long.

Decanted 3 hours but needs maybe 5-10 years. Quite nice and a good pairing with a deep sausage ragu. Aromatically quite beautiful - dried flowers, red fruit. Tannins are pretty serious at this point. Nice long finish and balanced acid. Was worried 2015 would be too much but at 14% flat this worked. — 14 days ago

One of my favorites. Great with dinner, especially Italian. A great mixture of sweet and dry. — 16 days ago
