Vigne Del Colle

Luciano Sandrone

Le Vigne Barolo Nebbiolo 2016

Yesterday late afternoon I had the pleasure of tasting the 2016 Luciano Sandrone Le Vigne Barolo. At first taste I knew this was a special bottle of wine. All boxes were checked on the nose as well as the palate.

On the nose were fully expressive notes of black cherry, strawberry, herbs, clove, clay pottery, rose petals, underbrush, tar and dusty soil.

On the palate were delightful notes of dark cherries, strawberry, red plum, licorice, truffle, herbs, dried roses, a good mineral note and dusty earth.

An outstanding wine from the word go, full bodied, well balanced with a smooth round mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + to high fine mouth coating grippy tannins that leaves you with a long pronounced fresh fruit dusty earth finish. This wine still has a lot to offer years from now. What a pleasure to have experienced this. I hope everyone's weekend is going well? Have a continued wonderful weekend. Please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Vieille Vigne du Levant Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend 2010

🏅 Rating 94/100 (4,4⭐)

Golden color. The style is gently oxidative. The bouquet of bird cherry white flowers and the warmth of a freshly baked loaf. With time in the glass reveals the iodine character of Côte des Blancs and light creamy notes of Cramant. The palate is broad with Granny Smith apples, white peach and citrus. Lightly oaked.

Previously this cuvee was called Vieille Vigne de Cramant, but had to change the name to avoid the confusion with Cremant. Name comes from the name of the place: Bourron du Levant. East facing parcel in Cramant with vines between 56 and 80 years old.

Larmandier-Bernier is among the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne. Always healthy ripe grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in oak barrels. Spontaneous malo, no filtration and fining. Cuvee spends impressive 7-8 years sur lattes to gain its beloved complexity and depth. This bottle was disgorged by hand in June 2018 and dosed with 2g/l to Extra brut.

A little disjointed right now but if the 2019 was an indication, 6 months in bottle should bring this to form — 14 days ago

Lovely, sooo pure boysenberry fruit. Can’t get much better than this at the village level. A few bottles into the case and in a really nice spot - no need to hold back from drinking the rest as at its peak. — 3 days ago

Copper tinge to this rose. Great aromas of watermelon, cherry and floral. Great red fruit flavors, smooth and chilled- much needed after a min day. — 21 hours ago

Cuvée delle Vigne Niche Santo Spirito Etna Bianco White Blend 2019

This was a great find. I’ve had their reds, but never their white. Great body. Minerals and honeycomb, with hints of Meyer lemon. This was so good now, and looking forward to one with some age. — 12 days ago
