Trousseau Gris

Sandlands

Sonoma County Trousseau 2024

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Consistent throughout though, I think I slightly preferred it after some air on Day 1. The 2024 pours a pale ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with winsome notes of bruised strawberry, watermelon Bubblicious, cranberry, pink flowers, and wet cement. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Tegan has become a master of Trousseau as this is about as good as any you will have, including the Jura. Drink now through 2034. — 2 days ago

Arbois-Pupillin Trousseau

vintage 2014 | rust color, transparant, smell of plums and sour cherries. Burgundian elegance in taste. Trousseau is my weak spot, especially ripened Trousseau 😉🎈 paired with a beefburger lunch — 8 days ago

Les Grands Vergers Arbois Trousseau 2023

Interesting palette not sure I ever tasted such an herbal wine before. Nose: cherry, orange? Taste: cherry, rhubarb, unidentified herb? Definitely a new try but very interesting and I did enjoy. — 3 months ago

Côtes du Jura Poulsard Blend 2020

Brilliant wine. So fresh, tart berries, bright flowers, stone, some herbs, mouth watering acidity from fruit flavors, apple, berries, cherries, hint of tropical fruit. So good with food. So good on its own. This is how I remember more Beaujolais tasting 10-15 years ago. — 4 months ago

Los Carneros Vin Gris of Pinot Noir 2023

Saline, dry, red berry, citrus rind, bitters. Very nice, but I prefer a little more fruit and a little more French. With the first grill of the season! Charred salmon, asparagus, corn on the cob, and strawberry tomato and watermelon salad — 2 months ago

All of the varietals come through but ultimately this is defined by its Pinot Noir polish and elegance. Light-bodied but with lively complexity of red fruit, spice and mineral. — 7 months ago
