Trediberri Barbera d'Alba 2022

Delectable Wine
9.3

The 2022 Barbera d'Alba is a fabulous wine that marries Barbera fruit richness with a Nebbiolo-like sense of structure. Aging is done entirely in cement. Ripe cherry, plum, lavender, rose petal and blood orange are front and center in this juicy, inviting Barbera. $23.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, January 2024) β€” 7 months ago

Langhe Rosato 2017

I have to side here with Carl Fischer. A good rose. Dark with weigh. Mostly underripe strawberry - on the back palate touch morello cherry as it warms up just πŸ“. Faintest touch of pine needles. At Sportello in Boston. β€” 6 years ago

Love these wines. Amazing how new age winemaking in Barolo has them drinking so beautifully on release. β€” 2 months ago

Berri Barolo Nebbiolo 2019

Trediberri: Popped and poured; enjoyed over two days. Progressive evolution throughout but consistently enjoyable after about 30min of air. My notes reflect the full progression. The 2019 Barolo β€œBerri” pours a bright garnet with a transparent core. Medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. No signs of sediment or gas. On the nose, intensely gorgeous aromas raspberries, dark cherries, roses, tar, orange rind, and dried herbs. On the palate, high tannin, medium+ acid, and medium+ alcohol. Confirming the notes from the nose. The fruit is tart, crunchy, fresh and the finish is very long and savory. With air, this seems to build some weight. This is really right up my alley and quite impressive. If this is representative of why there is increasingly more interest in the Berri cru, I can certainly understand why. There is quite a lot to like. There is freshness and an underlying confidence/power that is beguiling. Traditionalist hearts will pitter patter. Drink now with patience or reap an even more handsome reward down the line. This should drink very well through 2040 and beyond. β€” a year ago
