Black raspberry, cherry, and tar meet spice box, leather and licorice on the nose. Floral characters are there too. Round oak notes of vanilla bean and cedar bark lead to a bright cherry fruit mid-palate which transitions into a sweet, but savory finish, highlighted with juicy cherry fruit. Chalky tannins on the backend drive a sense of minerality. Purchased at the enoteca in La Morra in 2016. Drink with decant or hold.
