Montestefano Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2020

floral, violet, rose petal, strawberry, blackcherry, pomegranate, sweet spice, orange peel, tobacco, liquorice. A young, generous, focused, balanced and delicious Barbaresco for a great price. Give it some years to really blossom…93++ — 3 days ago

Alta Nova

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Dark fruit on the nose, blackberry and dark mulled cherry. A subtle sweetness that will likely ebb as the wine opens up, and a medium-light tannin. A tad lighter in body than I expected but really yummy. — 2 months ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2021

Delectable Wine

The 2021 Barbaresco is impressive. Intensely aromatic and explosive, the straight Barbaresco shows why 2021 is such a pedigreed vintage. Spice, lavender, sage and mint meld into a core of blue/purplish fruit. A gorgeous, overachieving wine, the 2021 just needs time in bottle. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, October 2024)

Poderi Aldo Conterno

Conca Tre Pile Barbera d'Alba 2021

2021 vintage. A bit of everything. Esteemed producer. Excellent nose. Front-palate richness. Mid-palate power and presence. Pleasantly astringent and beyond substantial finish. I usually eschew Barbera d'Alba for the resto list but couldn't deny this one. Picked up two cases and may pick up more to have laying around for 1.5-2 years. At the ridiculous resto price of $26.67, I can't afford not to. So delicious. 01.29.25. — a month ago
