On nose, its warm and ripe fruits there, oak, black cherries, some white pepper. On palate, wine is medium bodied, fruit is still fresh despite of some aging, tannic at the end, and elevated acidity. This still need some time, try it after 2026 if you can hold it. Cheers! — a month ago
Opened and decanted 2.5 hours in advance of our inaugural Aglianco Osso Buco wine dinner here at the Gotham
Facing off against a range of Aglianco from Unti in Sonoma, Leonetti in WA and Galardi 2007 in Campania
The 2010 Galardi was the most dense and as with the 2007, the fruit was minimal. Instead the flavor profile is herbs, green olives and incredible savory notes. It worked incredibly well with the osso buco and needed the richness to shine. This wine still had a bit of hard edges and could use more bottle age IMO — 19 days ago
Beautifully aged, enjoyed in 2024, great balance of dark fruits, mellow tannins, and a touch of acid. Great wine! — 2 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two hours. The 2019 “Bric dël Fiasc” pours a beautiful garnet with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe, red (mostly) and black fruits: raspberries, Maraschino cherry, underripe strawberries, cranberries, pomegranate, freshly cut sod, dried green herbs, talcum powder, and dried gravelly earth. On the palate the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, zippy and grippy. A beautiful Bric dël Fiasc that has a long life ahead. Drinking well now and should continue to do so through 2044, easy. — 2 months ago
Super sweet and oaky on first open but matured up with a 3 hour decant
Still quite fruity but with steak, it gives a lot of red berry fruit and the oak is reasonable and the sweetness is gone with the airtime.
Overall good wine but I thought it lost out to the Paul Hobbs LPV ‘14. — a month ago
Pale ruby in color; bright cherries, black tea, and potpourri on the nose; medium plus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like cranberries, raspberries, and clay pots with a long finish. Nellie didn't like it, Thy says it's gross, Jason says it's ok, I like it, and Wine Spectator ranked it as number 9 in its top 10 list of wines for 2024. — a month ago
