Welcome to the weekend! Looks to be a wonderful weekend and lets try to enjoy it. This afternoon I have opened for a close friend of mine the 2017 Duckhorn Vineyards Three Palm Vineyard Merlot. The blend is 91% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Malbec, 1% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot.
On the nose there is black cherry, plum, raspberry, bay leaf, herbs, spice, violet and cedar.
The palate is beautiful complex fruit of black cherry, strawberry, plum, fig, chocolate, clove, vanilla, graphite and stoney slate.
This wine is full bodiedwith a velvety mouthfeel, medium + acidity and medium + to high medium grained tannins with a long dark fruit tannic finish. What a beautiful wine this is and what a way to start the weekend off. Have a great weekend and please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 days ago
Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe dark berry fruits, herbs and spice, aged for 20 months in French oak (75% new). On the palate black cherry and black currant flavors with oak, vanilla and earthy notes. Well balanced, fine ripe dusty tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak, espresso notes and pepper spice! Nice! Drinks well now, aging??? -check back in a year or so! I have a few in the cellar!! — a month ago
Smooth feel, raspberry oaky Finnish. Low tannic notes. — 12 days ago
Delicious even though a young wine. Very clean with hints of dark fruit. No lingering aftertastes — 23 days ago
Crowd pleasing blowsy PG. Oily, heady, rose, apple and white grape aromas. Dry but correct touch of sweetness. The wine is matching goats cheese and dill beautifully, great value @£8.50 — 8 days ago
Very legit, big black cherry, spice, light toasted notes — 9 days ago
So after having a Puligny Montrachet the other night and then opening this - surprised at how similar they were. This had a great creaminess bordering buttery but not in a too rich way and great depth without too much oak. Very good though I didn’t really pick up any expressive fruit. I am a fan. The wife preferred the Montrachet. Such is life — a month ago
Not sure if Draper is still making these wines, but Ridge has been so consistent & solid over the years... and this affordable kitchen sink blend is delicious: dark & rich, big extraction here w/mouth coating tannins and gobs of brambly red & black berry fruit. Def some oak in this bad boy, hi ABV as well. Bit unruly right now - probably needs a nap for a few years. — 12 days ago
Citrus, floral, and a little buttery flavors coming together. A great start to a day of wine tasting. — 15 days ago
