Cornas Reynard (R) Syrah 2013

Really lovely and punchy. Vivid fruit, loads of savory tangy fruit. Iron and iodine and a hint of strawberry sweetness. Excellent — 7 days ago

Plexus Shiraz Blend 2021

This Aussie GSM was much richer than most Rhône wines that I’ve enjoyed - more red fruit and compote. Enjoyable albeit not overly complex. — 17 days ago

Château de Camarsac (Thierry Lurton)

Red Bordeaux Blend 2020

Château de Camarsac – Grand Vin de Bordeaux 2020
Bordeaux – France 🇫🇷

Overview
From the Thierry Lurton family, this Grand Vin de Bordeaux red is a Merlot-led blend with Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc, crafted in a rustic and approachable style. Typical of regional Bordeaux, it’s designed for value and everyday enjoyment, showing honest character rather than polish.

Aromas & Flavors
Red currant, blackberry, and plum, joined by earthy notes, light spice, and a touch of tobacco. A rustic edge gives it regional charm.

Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied, firm but easy tannins. Rustic and earthy, with freshness and a casual finish — classic regional Bordeaux.

Food Pairings
Great with charcuterie, roast chicken, pizza, or bistro fare. Perfect for a weekday table wine.

Verdict
A rustic, everyday Bordeaux red — casual, earthy, and satisfying in its honest simplicity. 🍷cheers!

Did You Know?
Château de Camarsac dates back to the 14th century and was once linked to the Black Prince during the Hundred Years’ War. Today, under Thierry Lurton, it continues to produce approachable, everyday Bordeaux with deep historic roots.

Entity Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017

A perfect balance between oak and fruit (blackberry) from this Barossa Shiraz. Great winemaking from John Duval who has quite the CV. John was Chief Winemaker at Penfolds from 1986 until 2002 being only the 3rd custodian of Penfolds Grange after Max Schubert (creator of Grange) and Don Ditter. In 2020 this wine received Shiraz of the Year and 99 points from the James Halliday Wine Companion. The product of old vines in the Barossa. Luscious but in balance and overall - delicious. — 20 days ago

John is a very nice guy and an excellent Winemaker. Tasted with him at Taste of Barossa in 2018.

En magnum. WotN. Standing above giants. Nose of post-hike sweatshirt and posies flower garden. Unreal mid-palate, funneled finish. 25 years, no sulfur. — a month ago

Over the hill. Not undrinkable, but not as intended. Tough to describe and better with food.

Revising up it’s getting better or I’m assimilating to it. Might need like a 3hr decant :)

Would lean towards the decant and the 55-60 degree range to maximize.

A red Meursault! Excellent, intriguing red fruited earthy notes with balanced if not lean palate and a nice tingling finish. Actually great with Evan’s sushi bake off salmon and crab. — 6 days ago

Meursault Chardonnay 2021

2021 vintage. Part of a portfolio tasting through 25 white/red Burgs. Some aggressive, frontal oak that mellows out a bit as it goes down. Medium/medium-heavy body. For village swill, this covers the bases quite nicely. 9.29.25 — a month ago

Good, but not my favorite. Very different from the Ruinart we had before. Much darker in color and significantly more tannins. — 3 months ago
