Great dry Chardonnay. Balanced alcohol and acid. Medium acid. Medium- high alcohol. Slight peach aroma. Slight bitter finish but not to a fault. Very rich mouthfeel and thick texture. Good burgundy. — 18 days ago
85/15 PN/Ch with 2016 vintage and 56% reserve wines, disgorged Nov 2019.
Fruitforward on the nose with fresh raspberries & red currant, juicy bright lemons, maybe a touch of basil + only a bit of brioche / lemon tart.
Fresh & bone-dry on the palate with tiny, persistent bubbles and a nice rich mouthfeel. Focused & precise with good depth & long finish.
This is a lovely, fruity yet savoury wine. I really like it. — a month ago

The first of many 2018’s from Rebourgeon. Stunning aromas. Stoney like great Pommard should be. A bit reticent but raspberry and licorice sneak through. Amazing airiness. So clean and such insane purity. This is slowly unfurling. Spice. Smoke. So detailed. This kid is such a talent. Wow. What a palate. So juicy and refined. Sick. So pure. Red fruits galore and stones. A tiny berry fruit intensity like nothing else. Nose getting more expansive with air. Terrific early season red cherries, and such freshness and just insane energy. Wow the is s little engine. Awesome velvety but also sweet and stoney tannins. Long and pure. So detailed. Seurat wine here. Delicious. As it airs the structure becomes more apparent with bigger tannins but it is all there. Briliant wine. — 2 months ago
Les Amoureux by Xavier Vignon, another single-vintage wine in the Arcane portfolio, is a beautiful embodiment of the southern Rhône from the spectacular 2016 vintage. A blend of 80% Grenache, with the 20% split between Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Caladoc, and sourced from the AOCs of Gigondas, Lirac, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise and Rasteau, it’s a fragrant but powerful wine that balances bright red fruit, dollops of garrigue and a smokey character with a good amount of acidity and tannin characteristic of a young Rhône wine. A basic Côtes du Rhône given the blend of multiple terroirs, this is the finest of Vignon’s wines that I’ve tasted to date and it should age well for the next decade. — a month ago
Instense and saturated with roasted black plum and mulberry fruit, tar, grilled porcini, espresso bean, pork blood, curing salt, hoisin, smoked meat, leather, hot iron, metal, apricot confit, grapefruit oil, talcum, roasted herbs de Provence, whole cluster spice like pepper and almost mustard seed, Absolutely wild in its length, complexity, and elixir-like headiness. Some people hate, but this is arguably one of the most unique terroirs for Syrah on earth. — a month ago
