Has a soft floral fragrance with notes of dark berries!
Drinks quite strongly and is intense right out of the gates. However, it does mellow out a bit…but still retains robust flavors of spice, dark fruit and tobacco leaf. — 11 days ago
Blend of 96% Tinto Fino and 4% Merlot, new and used oak aging, deep Ruby red with elegant bouquet of berry fruits, pepper spice with earthy tones. On the palate flavors of plum and blackberry, with tobacco, oak, pepper spice, lively acidity. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and an earthy character. Nice! — 11 days ago
This bottle had been cellared since release and cork was in near pristine condition. At 54 years old, it remains a deep garnet/purple and now with loads of sediment. Classic Rioja character with dried black cherry, toasted coconut, cedar, dried flowers, leather and earth. The structure remains intact and the acid is still pretty fierce. This should continue to age very well if conditions are good. — 4 days ago
Jenks
4hr decant. GD that’s good. Need to put a couple of these away for a while, but this is already more approachable than other Riojas I’ve had of similar age. Pairing w. roasted oyster mushrooms and polenta. — 5 days ago
